Madison Theatre Guild
Founded in 1946, the Madison Theatre Guild (MTG) is Madison's oldest community theater group, having produced nearly 400 shows for all ages in its illustrious history. One of the original participating theatre companies in the Bartell Community Foundation, MTG performs on both stages of the Bartell Theatre at 113 E. Mifflin Street, just off the square, in Madison, and has offices, rehearsal spaces, set shop, prop and furniture storage spaces and the Madison Theatre Guild Costume Shop all housed in a 1939 Firehouse at 2410 Monroe Street. With the best collection of rentable theatrical costumes and properties in Madison, and an always-aggressive season of productions and opportunities for volunteers of all ages and skills, MTG remains, after 60 years, the premiere Community Theatre in Madison.
