Cycropia Aerial Dance

One of only a handful of aerial dance troupes in the country, Cycropia Aerial Dance was born in Madison in 1989 and has been performing publicly since 1991. Combining modern dance and improvisation with trapeze, harness, handloops, aerial fabric and spanish web, Cycropia's performances create the breathtaking illusion of human flight. Volunteer-run and collectivist in structure, the troupe not only performs live, but conducts trapeze classes and educational workshops for children and adults.
