ARK too performs each Friday night at 8:00 pm at the Ground Zero coffeehouse at 744 Willy Street.

As you may remember the company formed a little less than a year ago....and we now are six improvisors who have been working since then to develop a Long-form Improvised show that will be evolved from only three audience suggestions and run for about 30 - 40 minutes. The development of this form has been a life-long goal of mine and, finally, we have a company of six who are committed to the work.

The ARK Improvisational Theatre was active in Madison from 1982-1994, and is known for the people who worked there and their subsequent fame. Since then The Director, Dennis Kern, has been focusing on teaching and training people to "improvise." More important, what has evolved from that is a system of rules, non-rules and exercises that get to the heart of "what to do" to get into the intuitive and stay there.
