Children's Theater of Madison
The Children's Theater of Madison (CTM) is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization founded in 1965 with the mission of creating vibrant theater experiences with universal stories about young people that engage the whole community. Since CTM's first season, its reach has extended into Dane County communities as well as surrounding counties. CTM is a resident company of the Overture Center and produces an annual production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL plus two other productions each season, and operates after-school and weekend classes as well as the highly regarded Summer Drama School.

Acting Classes
CTM offers a number of classes for children ages 5 and up, as well as adults. Evening and weekend classes are offered year-round, and our Summer Drama School for ages 10-19 offers three all-day three-week sessions culminating in public performances. Session IV: An Introduction to Theater Arts
One Week from August 11-15, 2008
For Ages 9-14
9:00 am - 3: 30 pm Monday through Friday.
Final Presentation: Friday, August 15 at 2:00 pm
Theater Week II continues the introduction of acting, movement, vocal techniques, and technical theater. CTM's Teaching Artists Talish Barrow and Tammy Moschae lead the session and work on a new set of scenes, and can provide new challenges for students who wish to participate in both Theater Week I and Theater Week II. Guest Artists introduce costume design, make-up, stage combat and more. The workshop is designed for students who are new to the theater as well as those with previous experience. Family and friends are invited to the informal presentation on the last day of class.
Tuition: $250
Talish Barrow returns to CTM's Summer Drama School for his fourth summer.He earned his BFA in Theater from New York University and taught at NYU and The Atlantic Theater Company School. He was active in the New York theater for 13 years, where he worked and studied with David Mamet, William H. Macy, Felicity Huffman and Anne Bogart. Talish is currently pursuing his MFA in Directing from UW-Madison.
Tammy Moschea is a familiar face at CTM, teaching acting and movement classes. She received a BFA in performance from Milliken University in Illinois. Since 2005, she has worked as an educator, director and choreographer at numerous schools in the Madison area. She has also performed here in Madison with CTM and The Madison Repertory Theatre.
